MANILA, Philippines – Serve the people. Live up to the ideals of an “Iskolar ng Bayan.”

Amid protests by some students as he was delivering his speech, President Aquino on Sunday, April 17, 2011, reported on his administration’s accomplishments before more than 4,000 graduates of the University of the Philippines Diliman, and challenged them to help fix the “rotten mechanism of our society.”

Aquino asked the graduates to make a decision now on what they wanted the country to become, saying it can continue traversing the same cyclical route like the “ikot,” which refers to the campus ride that UP-Diliman students take to move from one building to another.
